A large auction house relied on financial estimates over hard data for manage revenue projections. There was relatively little insight into risk and sale outcomes. Current systems in place did not support the level of analysis, cash flow impacts and capital constraints required for efficient operations. Well informed decision making was difficult and required a lot of manual data manipulation and duplication.
FTI established a “war room” for deal approval and created a bottoms-up system design, data architecture and a systems integration plan that fostered a step change in the organization’s ability to model and manage deal, risk and sale outcomes. Dashboards were designed and implemented for business users to model deal finances based on hammer prices at auctions to predict outcomes and manage risks.
FTI created a competitive advantage for the organization by significantly reducing time (from days to hours) to understand deal finances. Information Technology Outsourcing in Action:
A major Private Equity firm based in the US but with global presence through a network of over 40 portfolio companies wanted to identify and partner with an India-based Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) service provider to achieve scale and growth for the PE’s portfolio.
We developed an outsourcing assessment methodology scoring business activities in three dimensions: process capability (the potential for a function to be outsourced), process readiness (the process’s current-state readiness to be outsourced) and utility (the degree of benefit as measured by service effectiveness, cost effectiveness and level of burden reduction). We then developed a business case for outsourcing for PortCo’s in scope based on newly created methodology along with an RFI to identify potential India-based ITO service providers.
Built a framework that will be deployed as part of client’s outsourcing strategic initiative and applied across client’s portfolio. Newly created methodology is currently being deployed across multiple portfolio companies.
